 IRA Certificates (Term Share Certificates)

If you desire a safe account with higher dividends, an IRA Certificate may be right for you. IRA Certificates (sometimes called CDs or Certificates of Deposit) allow you to deposit a minimum amount of money in an account for a set period of time. Your dividends are based on the amount of time you choose to leave the money in the account.
  • Choose from a variety of terms ranging from six months to five years.
  • The interest rate on an IRA is fixed--the rate you earn will stay the same until maturity. Click here for current rates.
  • The fixed rate allows you to determine exactly how much money you will earn. (Try our Certificate Calculator.)
  • You can open an IRA with a minimum deposit of $250. However, dividends are only paid on balances of $500 or more.
  • Only deposits of $250 or more may be added at a time.
  • Funds withdrawn prior to the maturity date are subject to penalties. Note: There are substantial penalties on funds withdrawn before age 59 ½.
  • Our IRAs are federally insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund.
