IRA Certificates (Term Share Certificates)
If you desire a safe account with higher dividends, an IRA Certificate may be right for you. IRA Certificates (sometimes called CDs or Certificates of Deposit) allow you to deposit a minimum amount of money in an account for a set period of time. Your dividends are based on the amount of time you choose to leave the money in the account.
Choose from a variety of terms ranging from six months to five years.
The interest rate on an IRA is fixed--the rate you earn will stay the same until maturity.
The fixed rate allows you to determine exactly how much money you will earn.
(Try our Certificate Calculator.)
You can open an IRA with a minimum deposit of $250. However, dividends are only paid on balances of $500 or more.
Only deposits of $250 or more may be added at a time.
Funds withdrawn prior to the maturity date are subject to penalties. Note: There are substantial penalties on funds withdrawn before age 59 ½.
Our IRAs are federally insured by the
National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund.
